We are currently seeking a full-time Construction Superintendent to join our team for client accounts in our Dayton, OH office. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management from a four-year College or University, or High School Diploma and minimum three to five years of experience in development, building trades, construction, and/or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Individual should have knowledge of building design, construction and commercial insurance risk management laws, regulations and practices, understanding of design/operations interface and site installation processes, and awareness of environmental issues, as well as OSHA 10 Hour Construction, First Aid & CPR, and Fire Extinguisher certifications, and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and software related to construction management and project management.

The Construction Superintendent provides on-site supervision and management of day-to-day project operations including subcontractor coordination, and is responsible for the overall coordination and completion of the project while working under the direction of the Project Manager. Responsibilities include overseeing phases of construction project from construction kick off to completion and turnover; planning and coordinating work schedules to ensure absence of conflicts; assisting the Project Manager in coordinating permits and pickup of permits; supervision of all workers onsite to include the foreman; communicating and enforcement of site safety policies and procedures to site subcontractors and visitors; inspection of all phases of construction work to ensure construction in compliance with plans, standards, specifications, special requirements, codes and regulations; production of daily log and photos of work performed; inspection of equipment and materials per approved design, build-ins and construction work under excavation, clearing and grading, permits, compliance with local, state or federal standards for any right-of-way street use and permits issued to private utilities or contractors; coordination of inspections with utility companies, contractors, property owners and city departments; and providing of information and responses to inquiries from contractors, property owners, staff and the general public regarding assigned construction projects.

The candidate should possess strong organizational and management skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and have the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Excellent personal skills are also required including professionalism, strong work ethic, verbal and written communication, listening and problem solving, and a proactive approach.
